Winter in the Schladming - Dachstein Region
Passionate skiers as well as beginners can look forward to great fun on the pistes in the Schladming - Dachstein region. The large “4 Mountain Ski Area” in Schladming connects the ski resorts “Hauser Kaibling”, “Planai”, “Hochwurzen” and “Reiteralm”. It will make every skier’s heart sing!
Families will love the ski resorts “Ramsau”, “Ski Galsterberg”, “Riesneralm” and “Planneralm”. On the glacier Dachstein, you can enjoy skiing above Austria’s mountain peaks.
Peaceful winter activities await you off the pistes as well. Ramsau at the foot of the Dachstein is a paradise for cross-country skiers with 220km of tracks and trails. The Dachstein is also home to the longest cross-country ski trail on a glacier.
Walking in a winter wonderland, snowshoeing, tobogganing, ski touring, riding in a horse-drawn sleigh - one winter holiday won’t be enough to explore this fantastic region.

The network of hiking trails is huge, ranging from leisurely country walks to lakes nestled in the mountains, spectacular waterfalls and ravines to tours to the summits or trails for the whole family.
Adventurous guests can zip line down to the valley from the mountain Stoderzinken. Other fun activities: canopy tours, rafting, canyoning or paragliding.
Would you like to take it easy? Spend your day in one of the public pools or go swimming in a lake.

There’s also a lot to do here down in the valleys. How about visiting the loden factory in Ramsau, the brewery in Schladming or going for a relaxing walk with llamas or alpacas?
A very special highlight: the mountain Dachstein (2,700m) - Styria’s highest mountain. Take in the stunning scenery and breathtaking, panoramic views. On a clear day, you can see far beyond the borders of the country. A ride with the cable car is an amazing experience!
Once you’re on top, the suspension bridge “Sky Walk”, the “Dachstein Ice Palace” and the “Stairway to Nothingness” (“Treppe ins Nichts”) will make your trip unforgettable.
