In winter, skiers can look forward to 760 kilometres of pistes, 270 state-of-the-art lifts and 200 rustic mountain cabins in the Salzburger Sportwelt region and “Ski Amadé”, a network of ski resorts. Beginners and families, backcountry and discerning skiers - everyone will find the ideal piste. And afterwards, you can sample local delicacies and regain your strength in one of the mountain cabins.
You’re not fond of skiing? There are still enough ways to get active in the great, white outdoors: rides in a horse-drawn sleigh, snowshoeing, tobogganing or ski touring. Relax in the spas in the region or in the cosy apartments and holiday homes on the farm. For even more tranquility and relaxation, you can rent a mountain cabin or chalet just for you set in the snow-covered landscape only or located next to the ski slope.

1. Ravine “Liechtensteinklamm” in St. Johann
A trip to the ravine “Liechtensteinklamm” is a must during every holiday in the Salzburger Sportwelt region. This natural monument has been reopened after construction work. It now includes great new amenities such as the spiral staircase “Helix” which rises up 30m - an unforgettable experience. Important: Wear sturdy boots!
2. Mountain "Grafenberg" in Wagrain
Fun for all ages! Go to the top (1,700m) by cable car. Once you’re there, you can explore the adventure park including suspension bridge, jumping pillow, water games and much more to play with.
The themed trail “KUHbidu” was recently designed. Through play, you can get to know how a cow produces milk. All those who have solved all the riddles can look forward to a surprise! Good to know: The whole area is buggy-friendly.
3. Fun Park & Zoo in Untertauern
Have you always wanted to observe a red deer from up close? Then, the fun park & zoo in Untertauern is the place to be for you! Animals are allowed to be animals here. Look forward to seeing red deer, fallow deer, ponies, miniatures donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, miniature pigs and many more. Small animals roam freely in the zoo park.
There are two places to have a snack, a playground and a rental service for pedal boats, fishing rods and lines. Free entry!
